The Electronic Sports League has told HLTV.org that the match between Lions and redCode will not be replayed.
After Group B came to an end last night, the Swedish team filed a complaint to the tournament admins after learning the former WeMade FOX had used illegal settings.
Under German law, CS competitions cannot use blood settings, which means that even after you have killed an opponent, you will not see blood coming out of their body.
However, redCode managed to play the entire event with blood settings on, which Lions feel that was an advantage to the Koreans.
The Swedish team finished their group in fourth place, and the 16-8 defeat to redCode in their final group match deprived them of a place in the playoffs.
In case of beating redCode in the rematch, they would leapfrog fnatic and Na´Vi in Group B and advance to the relegation stage.
The ESL acknowledged that that redCode's use of blood settings was unfair, but stated there is nothing in the rulebook that says a match has to be replayed in light of a situation like this.
